Recently, with the Russian aluminum giant investing in the construction of an aluminum product processing plant in India, India will become the world's largest producer of aluminum products. According to reliable sources, Moscow-based United Rusal (abbreviated as: UC Rusal) is the world's largest producer of aluminum and corundum. It will cooperate with Gujarat Metal Sheet Co., Ltd. with a total annual investment of 150 Ten thousand tons of aluminum products. Gujarat Metal Sheet Co., Ltd. has a 40% share of the aluminum foil market in India. It is considered that the backward aluminum production capacity should be included in the joint venture company.

"We are a knowledge-oriented enterprise, but we do not have the funds to expand production, especially because of lack of cash and insufficient to build large processing plants and process aluminum products alone." Gujarat Metal Sheet Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as: Gujarat Metal) Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Venier Kumar Somani said.

The final result is that the company and Russia’s Rusal jointly submitted an expression of interest in bidding to the Gujarat government and jointly invested in the construction of an aluminum product processing plant. The bidding project is to build a corundum refinery with an annual output of 1 million tons and an aluminum product smelter with a capacity of 500,000 tons in the Kuche area. At the same time, Gujarat Minerals Development Co., Ltd. also received bidding interest from other companies and enterprises.

"We predict that the final investment of the project will total 140 billion rupees," Somani said. He also added that Gujarat Metal Sheet Co., Ltd. is in talks with United Rusal on the relevant details. "This cooperation will help us to increase our production capacity, and our bauxite will also reach a new production peak. It has been about 7 to 8 years for us to engage in this (smelting) research with Rusal. Product quality improvement is also a good opportunity." Somani said.

supplies bauxite raw materials from the deposit of Gujarat Minerals Development Co., Ltd. Although Gujarat Metal plays a "supporting role" in the aluminum product market, it accounts for 17,000 tons of all-print aluminum foil products with an annual output of 45,000 tons. According to reports, aluminum foil products are mainly processed into food packaging tablets and bottle closures used in the pharmaceutical and wine industries.

According to the survey report of the Indian Evaluation Manager in 2010, about 1 ton of aluminum products can only be produced after smelting about 6 tons of bauxite. Bauxite is the main raw material for the production of aluminum products. 95% of the bauxite raw materials in the world are mainly used to produce aluminum products. Alumina is also called corundum, and bauxite is the main component. Normally, bauxite contains 40% alumina, and corundum products are refined through the refining process. Aluminum is obtained from alumina by chemical reaction. Aluminum is commonly used in a variety of products, such as: air-conditioning compressors, refrigerators, aircraft frames and engines, as well as car body parts and engines, bridges, food packaging materials, beverage cans, cooking and packaging aluminum foil, building door and window frames, Cables and transformers.

The report said that there are three main aluminum production companies in India: Indian Aluminum Corporation, Vedanta Resources Corporation and Indian National Aluminum Corporation.
